Creating a logo doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming. With Canva, you can design a professional and clean logo without needing advanced graphic design skills. Whether you’re launching a new business or refreshing your brand, Canva’s user-friendly tools and customizable templates make the process straightforward. In this guide, I’ll show you how to create a simple logo using Canva, step-by-step, so you can have a polished design ready to use in no time. We’ll use a pizza restaurant as an example.
Step 1: Open Canva and Start a New Logo Design
Go to Canva.com and log in. Click “Create a design” and search for “Logo.” Select “Logo 500 x 500“
Step 2: Choose a Template
Click “Templates” on the left, type “logo” in the search bar, and pick a design that fits your client’s style.
Do Search For “Pizza Logo” and find one you want to work with and double click on it.
Step 3: Customize the Logo
Click on the icon and text to change colors—you could use red, green, and white for an Italian-themed pizza place. Edit the text with the restaurant name, like “Tony’s Pizza”, and add a tagline if needed, e.g., “Hot & Fresh.” Choose a bold, readable font. Center the icon above the text or use a side-by-side layout for versatility.
***Optional*** If you want to make your logo more unique you can generate an illustration in Dream Lab in Canva. Have your favorite AI Agent generate a prompt to create the illustration. You can also upload the illustration into AI and ask for a prompt similar to the illustration.

If you generate an icon you can then remove the background and insert it into your logo.
Step 4: Review and Download
Check the logo for clarity and balance. Click “Share” > “Download”, select PNG, and check Transparent Background for web use.
